(Chinook) The City of Chinook was recently approved to receive a grant of nearly 1 million dollars for their wastewater treatment plant.
The City of Chinook says that the money will be spent stabilizing the adjacent river bank and replacing nearly 10,000 feet of pipe, which they say will increase reliability and and meet minimum standards.
The project is also planned to replace and upgrade building features at the north lift station and completely replace the entire east lift station, along with some maintenance on pieces of the wastewater station.
