(NMB) The Havre Blue Ponies Girls and Boys Tennis teams both won divisional Championships on Saturday In Helena. In the girls singles bracket, Lindsey Leinwand(Line-wand) finished in second place behind East Helena’s Tayler Hadley.. In the Girls 3rd place match, Havre Teammates Tyley Hemmer and Kylee McNew squared off, with Hemmer winning the 3rd place match 6-1, 6-1. The Doubles Team of Alera Chandler and Heather Herring will also be headed to the State Tournament as they finished in third place.
In the boys bracket, the double’s team of Max Spangler and Carter Chagnon took 1st place, defeating a team from East Helena 6-3, 6-0. Aiden Moomey and Cash Schubert finished 3rd in doubles competition beating Lewistown’s Quinn Phillips and Lane Reesor. Callen Stoner finished in 2nd place in singles, falling to Butte Central’s Owen McPartland, and in the 3rd/4th place singles match, Havre’s Wyatt Jelly was defeated by Lewistown’s Aiden O’Neal.
The State Tennis Tournament starts Thursday in Billings
