Havre, MT – With official practices starting tomorrow for Blue Pony football, experience will be a key to success.
Now that the offseason is in the rearview mirror, Havre High football will look to it’s returning key players to help lead the team throughout the season. Head Coach of the Ponies, Jake Eldridge , spoke about what position group of returners have improved.
“We have got a lot of offensive lineman coming back, and those offensive line are now going into their fourth year in our program and these guys continue to get better everyday.”
Eldridge is specifically excided about who is protect his quarterback from those returners, saying it all starts with Tommey Lewis, who is committed to Play football at Montana State University. “It starts with Tommy Lewis, a senior, Max Spangler who’s a all conference center coming back and is going to be a senior. Danner Mcduffie, who is a two year starter at guard. you know probably our best guy up front from an athletic standpoint is going to be Brandon Healy… and we are excited about our quarterback, Griffen Terry, coming back you know its going to be his third year as a starter, so those kids all took tremendous strides.”
The Blue Ponies fell to Laurel in the state A semifinal game after a 7-5-1 overall and 5-1-1 conference record. with experience and leadership in the trenches and at quarterback, Havre High football could be set for a terrific season.
