Lewiston, ID – Montana State University-Northern Skylights volleyball splits first two games to start the 2025 season on Friday.
The Skylights dropped the season opener to Lewis-Clark State in three sets, 25-21 in both sets one and three and 25-14 in set number two.
Senior, Macee Selman, led MSU-Northern in both assists and digs with 10 of each securing the double double. Lexi Jones spearheaded the Skylights offense with nine kills.
Later the same evening, MSU-Northern bounced back in a four set win over Walla Walla University. Northern took the first two sets 25-17 and 28-26, dropped the third 25-22, and closed out set number four 25-21.
Northern scored eight aces with 53 kills led by Kadence Wiggins who finished with 13 kills. Macee Selman had another big game in the assist column with 25.
Skylights volleyball leaves Lewiston, Idaho 1-1. Up next, Northern volleyball travels to Butte for four games at the Big Sky Challenge next weekend.
The Skylights will take on William Carey University at 1p.m. and Eastern Oregon University at 6p.m. on Thursday, August 21.
MSU-Northern caps off the weekend against Taylor University at 6p.m. on Friday, August 22, and Ottawa University Arizona at 1p.m. on Saturday, August 23.
