Day of Honor Celebration

BILLINGS – Chief Plenty Coups (Koo) State Park will hold the 30th annual Day of Honor celebration on Saturday, Aug. 30. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Thirty years of stories.” The event is free and open to the public.

Day of Honor is held every year in late summer to commemorate Chief Plenty Coups of the Crow tribe.

The event will begin with a fun run in the state park, registration for the run begins at 7 a.m. A free brisket barbeque lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Festivities following lunch will include performances by a variety of artists, drummers, dancers, and speakers.

Chief Plenty Coups State Park is located at 1 Edgar Road in Pryor, 40 minutes south of Billings
