Havre, MT – Havre High Blue Pony Golf is entering into another year under Head coach Dennis Murphy. The team returns three total golfers from last fall.
Coach Murphy shared with NMB Sports what goes into a golf teams offseason and how it differs from other high school sports.
“Because it’s an individual sport the biggest thing for them is to be on the course. We don’t spend a lot of time as a team in the summer. We encourage our players to be out here and coach Burgess and I are obviously available to do some work with them on the range and stuff like that.”
“More importantly it’s to get out and play. Our season is so short and for them to get out and take advantage of being on the course in the summer and work on their own game. This summer has been a good summer I saw a lot of our kids do that which has been real positive.”
Dennis has been coaching golf in many different roles for over decade entering into the 2026 season.
