HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The annual Community Tree Lighting is set for this Saturday evening in Havre’s Town Square.
Beginning at 3:30 pm, there will be local vendors selling treats and the Havre High School Choir singing holiday carols. The tree lighting itself is slated for after 5 pm, according to Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julea Robbins.
“Share in the excitement of the arrival of Santa Claus, who will arrive around 5 or 5:30 pm depending on when his sleigh gets in. And then of course, we actually light up the Town Square Tree, which is always fun. Kind of ringing in the holiday spirit.”
Also on Saturday is the annual Cookies and Milk with Santa event, which will take place at 4:30 pm at the Havre Eagles Club and will conclude with a stroll with Santa to Town Square for the tree lighting.
“You just bring your kids and they can enjoy a cookie and drink some milk,” Robbins says. “Santa Claus will read a story to them. And then we normally give out books to each of the kids.”
Winners of the Super Certificate Giveaway and Beneath the Streets all-terrain vehicle raffle will also be drawn during the ceremony.
