As of 12:52PM Sunday afternoon the Hill County Department of Emergency Services Coordinator gave the following update on the Eagle Creek Fire situation:
The agencies involved in the fire suppression attempts are Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, the Bureau of Land Management, and Department of Natural Resources and Conservation with many major agencies on scene.
Air Quality and Visibility continues to be very poor.
Fire crews are continuing to attack the fire from the air with hot shot crews on the ground. Rural crews and machinery are also being utilized.
Frickel continues to insist the public cooperates and not try to access the park past second lake. There is security at the cattle guard and only local residents, fire crews and emergency personnel are allowed access. Hunters are also not allowed at any time in this area.
Besides the one cabin there is no new structure loss at the time of this article, and no injuries. She added land owners will be notified if their their structures are in danger or damaged.
Frickel expects fire response to continue through this week. She asks the public to go the the DNRC website for data updates on the fire, which Frickel says is current by 5PM each day.
