CASCADE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – Containment on the 31,591 acre Harris Mountain Fire is up to 51 percent as of Wednesday morning, an eight percent increase from the 43 percent containment as of Monday.
Additional crews and favorable weather have helped with containing the southern portion of the fire.
The lightning-caused fire was sparked 10 miles south of the town of Cascade on July 23rd.
The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office has rescinded all evacuation warnings and orders.
294 personnel are on the scene with equipment including two helicopters, five engines and three water tenders.
