HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Havre teenager was arrested on Monday evening just west of Havre after a high-speed pursuit ended in a rollover crash.
19-year-old Jalen Jaret Watson, also known as JJ Nault, is facing pending charges that include four counts of felony criminal endangerment and the misdemeanors of driving under the influence, fleeing a Peace Officer, driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license, and failure to carry proof of insurance.
Watson had a felony State District Court Warrant and five misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest at the time of the pursuit.
Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says the pursuit started at around 6:28 PM, when authorities say they saw Watson driving a 2004 Chevy Impala westbound on 1st street. Watson attempted to flee the scene. A few minutes later, Watson attempted a lefthand turn from US 2 to US 87 but failed to negotiate it. The vehicle ended up rolling over and landing upside-down in an embankment next to the weigh station. At that point, Watson was arrested.
Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says there were no serious injuries. Watson was taken to Northern Montana Hospital to be checked on before being transferred to the Hill County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
Montana Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation.
Watson had already been facing two felony criminal endangerment counts in an active case for his alleged role in a high speed chase back in January.
