Hill County Exits Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – For the first time since early July, Hill County is no longer in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.

The County Commission voted unanimously on Thursday to remove the restrictions. This change went into effect at midnight on the morning of November 5th.

Other counties in our area that have removed fire restrictions include Blaine, Chouteau, and Phillips.

Liberty County remains in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.

Stage 1 fire restriction ban open burning and smoking in outdoor areas where there are flammable materials.

In Counties where restrictions have been lifted, permits are needed for open burning.

Although many restrictions are lifted, the region still remains in a severe drought, so please take precautions to prevent fires from starting.
