HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Health Board met online on Friday afternoon to discuss how they are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Director Kim Larson said that all businesses that have reopened in recent days have been compliant with the new guidelines and that those with questions have been in contact with the department.
Businesses set to reopen next week have been in contact with the Health Department, and Sanitarian Will Lorett says his department will be checking to make sure they follow the new guidelines.
“We plan on dropping into restaurants next week just to confirm that everyone is working with the guidelines and (are) observing social distancing. And we’re just going to go from there.”
It was also noted that any employees coming to Hill County from out of state must quarantine for two weeks prior to going back to work.
County Commissioner Diane McLean said she believes Hilldale Colony School is planning on reopening on Monday.
Kim Larson asked for McLean to relay that information over to the Health Department so they can make sure they are following the new guidelines if they are indeed reopening.
The Health Department is also in contact with local school districs to make sure upcoming graduation ceremonies follow social distancing guidelines.
State Senator Russ Tempel asked whether Farmer’s Markets are allowed to be open.
The Health Board said that as long as social distancing and strict sanitation guidelines are maintained, they may be open.
As of Friday afternoon, 89 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hill County residents. 81 have come back negative, 7 are pending and 1 came back positive.
The individual that tested positive has since recovered.
