(MSUN) MSU-Northern recently welcomed Dr. Valerie Martin Conley, the university’s new Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost for the 2026–27 academic year, with a meet-and-greet reception. Conley brings extensive higher education leadership experience. She previously served as Provost and
Vice President for Academic Affairs at Idaho State University and St. Norbert College, as well as Dean of the College of Education at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She also held several faculty and leadership positions at Ohio University.
At MSU-Northern, Conley plans to focus on program review and strengthening the process of using assessment data to drive improvement. One of her priorities is to ensure that the information the university collects is put to good use in evaluating programs, identifying opportunities and strengthening the institution.
