(Havre) – The Havre Hill County Public Library will be holding a Just Breathe event every Tuesday for the general public and college students at the library. Megan Cartwright the Circulations Librarian for the Havre Public Library talks about the event.
“It’s just a program that I set up again cause I had a coloring program before this but I decided to bring it back and do what kind of mindfulness program where people can come and color or do puzzles like jigsaw puzzles crossword puzzles things like that and then we’ll have music playing too and Barb Zach says that she’ll come and play the harp sometimes so we’ll have a harp player, live music, or recorded music playing in the background. I just want people to come and relax and have fun.”
She continues by talking about the origin of the event.
“I’ve always been really into mindfulness and meditation and last year I had a coloring program and it kind of morphed into that and so I figured I’d bring it back and do it every Tuesday so people can come from four to six.”
She goes on to talk about what activities will be at the event.
“People can just come and sit down and start coloring or do a puzzle and or just sit and listen to the music or read the book. It’s kind of up to them it’s kind of an open thing to let people do whatever they want to do in that program.”
She also talks about how long she will keep it going.
“As long as people keep on showing up, so I’ll keep it going probably for a year or longer. I’m going to just keep it going.”
She continues by talking about how she thinks there is a need for her program.
“I think so especially like college kids i think that like sometimes college kids just need a place to go that’s not at the college to come and relax for a couple hours and I’m thinking just people in general just because we’re always busy and if there’s a designated time to come and relax maybe people would be able to do that so yeah.”
She finishes by talking about what she wants to let know about the event.
“I think I just want people to come and relax and have fun and to enjoy the music and just kind of be mindful for 2 hours.”
