(Fort Benton) – The Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center in Fort Benton will temporarily close Nov. 3 to accommodate heating system repairs, ensuring a safe and comfortable indoor experience will be ready for visitors and staff when the center is slated to reopen in mid-December.
There’s still lots to do and enjoy outside in the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. Coal Banks Landing and James Kipp campgrounds remain open until Monday, Dec. 1, and hunting, dispersed camping, and hiking opportunities abound throughout the monument’s more than 375,000 acres.
During the MBIC’s temporary closure, visitors needing information on fall and winter activities in the monument can call and leave a message and call-back number at 406-622-4000. Monument staff will return calls as soon as possible. Maps and other information about the monument are available at the Bureau of Land Management’s Lewistown and Havre field offices.
