MANDAN, N.D. (NMB) – KVBB reports that a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper fatally shot a 45-year-old Billings man on Tuesday night following a vehicle pursuit west of Mandan.
The pursuit occurred just after 8 PM on I-94 eastbound. The Highway Patrol says that when the pursuit ended, the Trooper fired his duty weapon at the lone occupant of the vehicle. They add that a gun was recovered from the vehicle.
The Trooper, who has not been identified, has been placed on administrative leave. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation will be investigating the incident.
