
HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern has announced that outgoing state legislator Brian Hoven will be delivering this spring’s commencement address, set for May 7th in the Armory Gymnasium at 10 AM.
According to a press release, Hoven was born and raised in Great Falls before graduating from Princeton University in 1963 and working at Proctor and Gamble.
Hoven started a farm equipment dealership in Great Falls in 1977 and later used a SBA disaster loan to help stay afloat.
Hoven turned to public service and won election as a Republican to the State House from 2009-2014 before moving over to the State Senate in 2015, where he has served ever since, but is not seeking re-election.
The press release states that Hoven continues to work at Hoven Equipment Company and is active in the community with Great Falls College – MSU, the Great Falls Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Cascade County Republican Party.
