Havre, MT – The MSU-Northern Lights football team played host to the Dickinson State Bluehawks Saturday afternoon for Northern’s homecoming game.
The Lights got it going early as quarterback Malakhi Statler hooked up with his star wide receiver Isaiah Woodley for a 29-yard TD.
Dickinson State was able to answer that with a touchdown drive of their own, but on the first play of the second quarter running back Laighton Scott V busted one for a 60-yard TD run nearly untouched.
After trailing at the half due to the Blue Hawks scoring a pair of unanswered touchdowns before the break, the Lights were able to regain the lead on a scoop and score from a pair of senior linebackers Braydon Cline and Jackson Kink. Kink was able to scoop up the ball after Cline forced it out and returned it to the house for six.
Dickinson State took over after that however scoring three touchdowns in a row to put this one away leading to the Lights falling 42-32.
Northern will hit the road next Saturday to Valley City State to take on the Vikings at 1 p.m.
