Havre Sand and Gravel Donation to MSUN For Hands-On Teaching

(Havre) – Havre Sand and Gravel has donated 17 yards of road-base gravel to support hands-on training in Montana State University-Northern’s plumbing program.

Under the direction of plumbing instructor Dylan Sander, freshman students constructed 24-by-24-foot forms to serve as training areas for underground plumbing installations. Once weather permits, students will practice installing underground rough-in piping for slab-on-grade homes, learning to position pipes precisely before concrete is poured.

Sander noted that this type of hands-on training has not been done at the university in the past, adding that he wants to give students as much real-world experience as possible. The new training area will provide freshman and sophomore students with valuable opportunities to develop practical skills for the field.
