There are exciting new housing projects happening on the Fort Belknap Reservation. Bradley Fox the Grant Management Specialist for the Fort Belknap Housing Authority explains the projects.
“We currently received two competitive grants from HUD IHBG, Indian Housing Block Grant competitive fiscal year 2020 and fiscal year 2021. One of them is to build 20 new units 1900 square feet in what’s called our Eagle Valley subdevelopment. We partnered with the economic development corporation on our reservation called Island Mountain Development Group to help administer those grants. The second one is another competitive grant where we’re going to be building 15 homes eight at the agency and seven in the southern end of the reservation to address the housing shortage and create more homeowners. These homes will be lease to own so we’re trying to increase people’s options here on the reservation as far as housing goes.” – Bradley Fox
