Lewistown, MT – Thursday afternoon the Havre Northstars took on the Lethbridge Lakers in the first round of the North District A tournament in Lewistown. Havre emerged victorious 12-6.
The Northstars entered the tournament as the number one seed after winning the district by three games. in district play Havre swept the Lakers in all four games and continued that streak into the post season.
The game started off competitive and after four innings Havre led 6-5. The Northstars then proceeded to knock in one run in the fifth and five runs in the sixth, while only giving up one run in the top of the sixth.
Ezra Pyle led the team in hits with three, Tommy Lewis and Chason Mader lead the team in RBIs with 2 each and on the mound Teegan and Colter Solomon combined for 8 strikeouts.
The Northstars look to avenge the last two losses of the regular season that they dropped to Medicine Mat this afternoon at 4:30p.m. in search for a district tournament championship.
