(Washington) President Joe Biden approved a Major Disaster Declaration for the state of Montana according to a release by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
This declaration means that federal assistance is available to the to supplement recovery efforts affected by flooding earlier this spring.
State, tribal, and eligible local governments will be able to receive this funding, specifically those in Blaine, Chouteau, Fergus, and Hill counties, as well as others that were equally affected by flooding.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide, according to the release.
