Rocky Boy High School Superintendent Voyd St. Pierre Discusses Upcoming Graduation

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) –The 2020 Rocky Boy High School (RBHS) graduation ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 27 at the Football Field.

RBHS Superintendent Voyd St. Pierre said they originally had their ceremony scheduled to happen this week but due to forecasted weather conditions they decided to wait.

“Trying to run a graduation with decorations and graduates and parents outdoors in a rainstorm probably wouldn’t be the best scenario for them all. I’m no weather forecaster, but just looking at all the different types of weather coming in it appears that next Wednesday will be a pretty nice day.”

St. Pierre said along with moving the event outdoors, they’ve had to make some changes to ensure everyone’s safety.

“Graduates will be allowed to bring two people who will accompany them and sit with them. In addition to that, we’ve allowed each graduate to also bring an additional eight guests…we will section off areas of the Football Field where those individuals may sit.”

RBHS is currently looking into the possibility of virtually streaming the ceremony online for students, friends and family members.
