(Malta) The Ranchers Stewardship Alliance, along with the Winnett Agricultural Community Enhancement and Sustainability organization, recently collaborated with The Nature Conservancy to facilitate a purchase of a not-yet-decided grass land range for educational and ranger sustainability purposes.
Leo Barthelmess is the President of RSA, and he spoke more on the what the RSA and the Winnett ACES hope to accomplish.
“There is an existing grass bank in south Phillips County right now and it provides grazing opportunities for twenty-something families, so that’s what the grass bank is and we would like to create another one that would support the community. Maybe a little more science based, and possibly managed by the local nonprofits: The Rancher Stewardship Alliance and or Winnett ACES,” said Barthelmess.
