Two products recalled for lead levels

(FDA – Press Release) Two products were issued FDA recalls this week due to elevated levels of lead found in the product, which is damaging to humans in long term exposures.

The products include SWAD CINNAMON POWDER of Raja Foods and El Chilar Ground Cinnamon in the Canela Molida variety.

For adults, chronic lead exposure is associated with kidney dysfunction, hypertension, and neurocognitive effects. Lead can cause serious health problems if too much is ingested, such as damage to the brain and kidneys and can interfere with the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen to all parts of your body.

The FDA urges consumers to dispose of the recalled products immediately.
